Self-Portrait

Students were introduced to facial proportions. Using mirrors, students used observational drawing skills to create self-portrait sketches, and used chalk pastel and pencil to add color and value. ​Lesson by Yuliya Paylor.

Sonobe Origami

Students learned to create Sonobe units using Origami paper. Students used their Sonobe units to create 3 piece, 6 piece, 12 piece, and 30 piece modules. Students also created modules of their own invention. Lesson by Yuliya Paylor.

Calaveras Prints

Students learned about the art of el Día de los Muertos and created calaveras (sugar skulls) prints inspired by the Mexican holiday. ​Lesson by Yuliya Paylor.

Line Personality

Students explored line to create a unique design, and used color to convey feeling and personality in their artwork. Lesson by Yuliya Paylor.
